On July 8, 2025, the "New Fashion Force 2025" graduation fashion show of Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) came to a successful conclusion. As a diamond-level sponsor, Consinee Group specially established the "Consinee Award" to strongly support this creative and passionate fashion event. This show not only showcased the top design talents of HKDI students but also ignited the flame of innovation in the fashion industry through the "Phoenix Project".
The perfect collision of creativity and yarn
Consinee Group provided 10 graduates from HKDI with a full range of yarn options from its three major brands - CONSINEE, TOPLINE, and ICCI, helping them transform their imaginative design concepts into stunning works. The designers ingeniously utilized the characteristics of the yarns to create fashion collections that combine functionality and artistry, demonstrating the boundless possibilities of textile materials in the fashion industry. The themes of the works cover diverse directions such as social issues, personal growth, and sustainable fashion. The designers skillfully employed yarns from Consinee Group (such as BRIGHTON, HANA, PEGASUS, etc.) and expressed through innovative knitting techniques, showcasing the perfect blend of functionality and artistry.
Highlights of some of the award-winning works
Yang Cuixin won the "Consinee Prize" for her work "WORKAHEALING" . This work is centered around the concept of "work as healing", redefining work clothes by deconstructing suits and functional details. The design employs a gradient color scheme ranging from indigo to golden dawn, ingeniously symbolizing the day-night rhythm of workaholics.
The work specially selects ICCI-Pegasus sponsorship yarns and innovatively recycles the discarded fabric pieces from the Consinee out-of-season color cards, achieving upgrading and reprocessing through exquisite knitting and patchwork techniques.
Zhou Qingmiao won four awards with her work "Anatomy: Rights of Garments". These awards include the overall champion, the best sustainable award, the best women's clothing design award, and the HKFDA Creative Award. This work drew inspiration from human anatomy and deeply explored the subtle connection between clothing and the body. The designer skillfully utilized the knitting characteristics of CONSINEE-Sandbank yarn to precisely simulate the unique texture of skin being stretched, and through innovative material experiments, broke through physical limitations, presenting avant-garde design concepts and exquisite craftsmanship techniques.
The award-winning work "Awaken Sleep" from Wan Zecheng skillfully utilizes the soft drape and excellent dyeing effect of Topline-Ceylon yarn, perfectly integrating traditional denim washing techniques with knitting technology. This work boldly breaks away from the conventional norms, discarding the traditional denim blue color scheme and innovatively developing a unique washing color scheme, while maintaining a forward-thinking design sense and achieving commercial feasibility.
Through delicate knitting texture and innovative washing effects, the work vividly interprets the concept of sleep and profoundly presents the mental exhaustion state of modern people under high-pressure society. This design not only received double recognition as the Best Knitting Design Award and the HKFDA Creative Award, but also successfully aroused public attention to sleep health and social pressure, demonstrating the social value of fashion design.
Ms. Zhou Xiaohua, the marketing and business development manager of Consinee Group, together with several industry experts, served as judges. They jointly witnessed the outstanding talent of the new generation of designers. This fashion show attracted 1,200 spectators and was an unprecedented grand event. The students from HKDI, with a forward-looking perspective and the courage to challenge traditions, injected fresh vitality into the fashion industry.
Fire Phoenix Project: Empowering Future Designers
From the "Transformation" exhibition of Shanghai Institute of Art and Design, to the SFT graduation design exhibition of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and to this HKDI graduation fashion show, Consinee's "Fire Phoenix Project" has been soaring high in various fashion events. We are committed to becoming a solid support for the growth of future designers, collaborating with emerging fashion forces to explore the unknown and define the new look of future fashion.
More student works sponsored by Consinee are showcasing the boundless possibilities of knitted design
Recently, Xiong Yingdi, an outstanding graduate of Central Saint Martins University in the UK and a designer, collaborated with the Consinee Group. Using Consinee's cashmere yarns and stock fabric pieces as the core materials for her postgraduate series, she designed a series of lightweight and dynamic products. These products were selected for the Parsons Charity Dinner show held on Wall Street in New York, showcasing the strength of Chinese brands and design on the international stage.
Looking to the future, Consinee Group will continue to take innovation as the engine and sustainability as the core to drive the global fashion industry forward. We look forward to more young designers joining hands with Consinee to jointly write a new chapter in the fashion world!
