To strengthen the global high-end cashmere supply chain and deepen China-Italian cooperation in the textile industry, Mr. Xue Jingli, Chairman of the Consinee Group, led his team in partnering with Italian guests to officially launch a raw material traceability initiative. During this traceability initiative, the Consinee team ventured deep into the core pastoral regions and production frontlines of Northwest China. From the pastures to the workshops, they exercised full-chain control over the quality of cashmere and yak wool, upholding quality with craftsmanship and fostering development through collaboration, thereby writing a new chapter in the coordinated development of the Chinese and Italian textile industries.
On-Site Traceability: Selecting Rare Raw Wool and Visiting Herders in Pastoral Areas
Braving the spring chill and auspicious snow, the team traveled to an altitude of 3,000 meters. On April 13–14, a delegation organized by Consinee traveled through key cashmere and yak wool production areas in Gansu—including Tianzhu, Alxa Left Banner, Otog Banner, Lingwu, and Wuzhong—visiting the front lines of raw wool procurement, sorting, and carding to inspect raw material quality and production processes firsthand. Accompanied by Chairman Xue, the Italian guests joined the Consinee team on a deep dive into Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County— —the core production area responsible for 90% of the world’s white yak wool. They witnessed firsthand the scarcity of this resource, with annual production falling short of 10,000 kilograms, and gained an immersive understanding of Consinee’s strict control over raw material sources, including the living environment of white yaks and the entire process of yak wool collection and primary processing. During the traceability tour, the Consinee team made a special visit to local herders to listen to their concerns, hoping that through the efforts of Consinee’s team, they could improve the price and quality of yak down and contribute to the development of the pastoral industry.
Deep Collaboration: Strengthening the Traceability System, Building a High-End Supply Chain Together
This traceability initiative represents a significant step in Consinee’s commitment to source control and the establishment of a fully traceable supply chain system. It also serves as a key measure to deepen cooperation with Italian partners and jointly build a global high-end supply chain. From the herders on the pastures to the production workshops, every stage is fully controllable and traceable throughout the entire process. Linking through pasture traceability, both Chinese and Italian parties are deepening textile cultural exchange and industrial synergy. Leveraging its source advantages and core capabilities, Consinee plans to establish a yak wool breeding base in pastoral areas to better protect and optimize the yak wool population. Simultaneously, this initiative aims to preserve grassland vegetation and the ecological environment, jointly safeguarding raw material quality and providing the global market with more valuable sustainable raw material solutions.
A Shared Future: Cultural Integration, Deepening Cooperation to Write a New Chapter
Today, April 15, the Italian delegation will visit the Consinee Group’s headquarters in Ningbo for an in-depth tour of the Group’s smart dyeing plant, smart spinning workshop, and smart fabric workshop, engaging in comprehensive business exchanges and cooperation discussions. During this visit, Consinee will comprehensively showcase its full-industry-chain capabilities and deepen strategic cooperation between China and Italy. By leveraging Consinee’s smart manufacturing and Italy’s high-end market, we will bring yak wool to the world, serving more consumers with this luxurious fiber and contributing Consinee’s strength to the industry’s high-quality development!
